Our Story
Carlos De Los Reyes founded Baypillar in 2020 with a simple yet powerful goal: to provide exceptional residential construction services while building lasting relationships with homeowners throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Carlos' passion for construction and fine craftsmanship began during his childhood in Cuba. He grew up watching his father, a skilled carpenter, work with extraordinary precision. By his side, Carlos learned the importance of discipline, attention to detail, respect for the craft, and the belief that quality is never an accident, and project is only truly complete when every detail has been properly executed.
After moving to the United States, Carlos spent four years working for a commercial furniture manufacturer, where he managed projects and teams responsible for producing custom furniture and specialty pieces for commercial spaces. During that time, he gained valuable experience in project management, client relations, custom fabrication, design coordination, and the complete process from initial planning through final installation. This demanding work further refined his carpentry skills and established the high standards of craftsmanship and precision that continue to define Baypillar today.
With that foundation, Carlos took the next step and created a company of his own. Baypillar was established to offer comprehensive residential construction services, including complete home renovations, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, home additions, fine carpentry, cabinetry, doors, trim, moldings, and detailed interior finishes.
Baypillar has also completed remodeling and renovation projects involving historic homes, where preserving the architectural character of the property is essential. These projects require careful planning, thoughtful material selection, and close attention to original details. Whether restoring existing woodwork, reproducing traditional moldings, updating outdated spaces, or integrating modern functionality into an older home, the goal is to improve the property while respecting its history and distinctive character.
